4. Predrill for a 3” screw into the corner of 3 foot shelf and the 10 7/8 leg from step 1 making the leg even with the edge of the shelf.
Tip: Continue predrilling a little farther into the top of the leg.
5. Insert and drill 3” screw all the way into the predrilled 3 foot shelf in 3. with about ¼” further to find the hole in the leg.
6. Put glue on the top of the leg before attaching the shelf. (Using glue and a screw is absolutely necessary.)
7. Continue attaching the shelf to the top of the leg making it flush.
Tip: You may need to use a ratchet screwdriver with rubber grip gloves on to make the screw flush with the top of the shelf.
8. You will repeat step 4 through 7 for all four longer legs completing the upper shelf.
I cover this riser with a black sheet since our tools are pink and black and place it on a 6’ table for exposure events. The hidden area under the riser in the back is perfect for keeping your purse, money box, drinks, snacks, etc. If you are using a 4’ table, you should make the shelves 2’ long. If your product is smaller, you might use a 1x6 (which is really ¾”x 5 ½”). This riser setup works really well for displaying your product and is relatively light to carry.
